How to Write Facebook Ad Copy That Makes People Click and Buy
Simple words sell products — here's how to find the right ones

The words in your Facebook ad matter more than most people think. A great photo gets attention. But the right words are what make someone click — and eventually buy.
Start With Your Customer's Problem
The biggest mistake sellers make is talking too much about their product. Instead, talk about the problem your customer has. When someone reads your ad and thinks "That's exactly how I feel!" — you've got them.
For example, instead of saying "Our back pillow is made from memory foam," try "Finally sleep through the night without waking up with back pain." One talks about the product. The other talks about the customer.
Keep Your Words Short and Simple
People scroll fast. You have about two seconds to grab their attention. Use short sentences. Use simple words. Write the way you talk.
Aim for sentences under 10 words when you can.
Use everyday words — no fancy business talk.
Break up your text so it's easy to scan.
One idea per sentence. Don't cram too much in.
Lead With the Biggest Benefit
Your first line is the most important. Don't save your best stuff for the end. Lead with the most exciting thing your product does for the customer.
Ask yourself: "What's the number one reason someone would buy this?" Put that right at the top.
Use Words That Trigger Action
"Free" — everyone loves free things
"Now" — creates urgency
"Proven" — builds trust
"Easy" — removes fear of complexity
"Guaranteed" — reduces risk
"Today only" — pushes people to act fast
Always End With a Clear Call to Action
Tell people exactly what to do next. Don't make them guess. "Shop now," "Grab yours today," "Get 20% off this week" — these are clear, direct, and action-focused. The clearer your ask, the more likely people are to do it.
Test Different Versions
There's no perfect ad copy. There's only better and worse — and you find out which is which by testing. Write two versions of your ad copy. Run both. See which one gets more clicks. Keep the winner and test again.
