Domain Verification: A Boring But Necessary Step for Facebook Ads

Since Apple's iOS14 update, Facebook requires you to prove that you own your website. This is called Domain Verification. It sounds technical, but if you don't do it, Facebook won't let you track conversions properly.

Here is the simple version of how to do it.

Step 1: Go to Business Settings

Go to Brand Safety > Domains. Click 'Add' and type in your website (e.g., myshop.com).

Step 2: Get the Code

Facebook will give you a 'Meta-tag.' It looks like a little line of random text.

Step 3: Paste it on Your Site

Copy that text. Go to your website builder (Shopify, WordPress, Wix). Find the 'Header' section of your code and paste it there. (Most platforms have a plugin or a setting box just for this).

Step 4: Click Verify

Go back to Facebook and click the green 'Verify' button. Done.

Why This Matters

Once verified, you can configure your 'Aggregated Events,' which is a fancy way of telling Facebook which actions (Purchase, Add to Cart) are most important to you. It keeps your data accurate.
