Using Testimonials in Facebook Ads: How to Use Social Proof Legally
If you say you are great, it's bragging. If someone else says you are great, it's proof. Testimonial ads are a staple of any good strategy because they build trust instantly. But you need to package them right.

Here are three ways to use reviews in ads.
1. The Graphic Overlay
Take a nice photo of your product and put the review text right on top of it. Use quotation marks so people know it is a review. "Best shoes ever! - Sarah"
2. The Screenshot
Take a screenshot of the actual review from Facebook or Google. The stars and the little profile picture make it look authentic.
3. The Mashup Video
Stitch together 3 or 4 video clips of people saying nice things about your product.
The Legal Stuff
You generally need permission to use someone's full name or photo. To be safe, use "Sarah S." instead of "Sarah Smith," or ask them for permission first.
Finding the Best Quotes
You don't just want a review that says "Good product." You want a review that handles an objection. "I was worried it wouldn't fit, but it was perfect!"
